| This course will examine collaborative photography through the use of photo archives, drawings and contemporary practice. In the last two decades, a growing number of artists have adopted a mode of working that is radically different from the usual modernist model. These artists are working as collaborators with people or groups outside the world of art - with children, senior citizens, sanitation workers, or residents of a particular neighborhood. The course will explore the social, political and ethical implications of participation and authorship in photography. The aim will be to discover how photographers and artists collaborate and interact with people when making photographic projects.
